It has been claimed in the British Press that Manchester United will again try for Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas, with Arsenal also in the frame.
Sport cites a report that claims Louis van Gaal, who is expected to be named the new United manager, wants Cesc in his midfield. Toni Kroos, Marco Reus and Kevin Strootman have all also been mentioned.
A fee of €55m has been mooted, with Cesc in line to earn €243,000 [£200,000] per week should the deal go through.
But Arsenal are also monitoring developments and could make a play for their former captain, using the buyback clause in the deal that took Cesc back to Barcelona in 2011. He first left Barca for Arsenal as a teenager in 2003.
