Monaco will announce the signing of Victor Valdes in the near future, according to reports.
AS cites a claim from French publication L’Equipe that says the principality club will confirm Valdes’ arrival for next season ‘imminently.’
Valdes is unlikely to play before October after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in March in what proved to be his last game for Barcelona.
The goalkeeper had previously announced his decision to leave Camp Nou this summer, when his contract expires.
Valdes will be reunited with former Barca teammate Eric Abidal and could play in the Champions League next season after Monaco claimed second place in Ligue 1, behind runaway title winners Paris Saint-Germain.
