Emery wants win for Sevilla fans

Unai Emery has told his Sevilla players to go and beat Villarreal for the supporters, and to help confirm the club in fifth place.

Athletic Bilbao claimed fourth on Friday while Sevilla are two points ahead of Real Sociedad and seven clear of the Yellow Submarine.

Emery’s team are also through to the Europa League final after beating Valencia on away goals but the Coach told his pre-match Press conference that the last two results should be of concern.

Valencia won the match on Thursday but a late Stephane Mbia goal sent Sevilla to the final, where they will play Benfica.

“I want to strengthen fifth, since we can’t finish fourth. We deserve to be there at the end of the season,” Marca reports Emery as saying.

“We have a responsibility to the fans. The fresh players must seize the game and play well because we owe it to the people.

“But we can’t forget we have lost the last two games. That means we must have done something wrong.

“We can make things better [against Villarreal]. We’re working on areas of improvement.”
