Neymar has dismissed any suggestions that he and Lionel Messi don’t get along and insists the pair can play together for Barcelona.
The Brazil international was interviewed by CNN, with his comments published by Mundo Deportivo.
“[Messi and I] couldn’t play together in every game but I think the link we have been creating is very good, since the relationship between us is wonderful,” he said.
“Some people say that we don’t get along, but they’re wrong.
“He is a very relaxed guy, a star that I admire, and I know some of the things said about him are not true.”
Neymar added that he believes he will recover from his foot injury in time for the World Cup but lamented being unable to help his club in the final weeks of the season.
“I’ll be recovered to play at the World Cup. The only problem is I can’t help Barca,” he continued.
“I hope to get to the World Cup at a high level and help my team win the trophy.”
