Garcia: Winning is what’s important

Raul Garcia has insisted his goals only matter as they help Atletico Madrid win games in their title challenge.

Garcia netted the only goal against Valencia as Atletico maintained a four-point lead at the top of the table with three rounds of fixtures to play.

The last game of the season sees Atletico travel to current champions Barcelona, while Atleti also have a Champions League semi-final to comprehend, travelling this week to London to play Chelsea in the second-leg.

“The important thing is that my goals help us win,” AS reports Garcia as saying after the final whistle.

“Valencia had to go out and win. It was hard.

“I did it for everyone, especially those who have always supported me.

“Levante will also be a difficult game.

“We’re doing it with sacrifice and humility. This is a team and we give the maximum. That’s why we are where we are.

“Now we think about Wednesday and we must go out and win in London.

“Chelsea are competing for the Premier League and we know it will be very complicated.

“The support of our people will be very important. They know why we win. It’s for all of them.”
