Villarreal boss Marcelino admitted that Malaga were better than his side in ‘every department’ on Monday evening.
The Yellow Submarine went down 2-0 to the Costa del Sol outfit last night, to slip to seventh position in the table.
“I’m not happy because we lost,” he told a Press conference. “But we have to recognise that they surpassed us in every department.
“We have no option but to congratulate them. We were second best all over the pitch – they surpassed us in every way.
“We had the ball a fair bit, but lacked any sort of depth. And the final pass was missing from our game, which isn’t a criticism I usually have.”
