Aguirre wants Espanyol focus

Javier Aguirre has warned his Espanyol players against switching off in the remainder of the League campaign.

Marca reports that Aguirre revealed at his Press conference prior to playing Real Sociedad on Saturday that he had to single out two of his players in training.

“We can’t switch off. We must fight for this shirt and this badge and we can’t think that we have to do badly to be in the relegation mix,” Aguirre said.

“We’re in a comfort zone where nothing makes sense. We have to keep the pressure on,” the Mexican added, before again citing his target of 50 points.

"It's a good figure and it'd be Espanyol's best in nine years if we can get it, but we need to improve our performances," he continued.

"We're going to be ready from the first minute [against La Real]. We need to be focused throughout the game."
