Bartra: Madrid more effective

Marc Bartra has admitted that while Barcelona dominated possession in the Copa del Rey final, winners Real Madrid were more effective.

Bartra scored to level the game at 1-1 after Angel Di Maria’s opening goal but a late solo effort from Gareth Bale sent the trophy to the capital.

The centre-back wasn’t expected to play in the game due to injury and confirmed after the final whistle that he was struggling in the days leading up to the fixture.

“I’ve had hamstring problems all week. It was impossible,” AS reports Bartra as saying.

“We had chances. The game was all our possession but they have come forward twice and scored two goals. They were more effective.

“There are League games left and we will go all out, which is all we have left to do.

“We have to thank the fans for supporting us and travelling here. We will continue to fight in the League.”
