Monaco in triple La Liga swoop?

Big-spending Monaco could do most of their summer shopping in La Liga amid reports of moves for Diego Simeone, Diego Costa and Iker Casillas.

Marca cites a report from France Football that says the principality club wants to name El Cholo as their Coach for next season, have Costa leading the line and Casillas taking the gloves.

Monaco called on Atletico Madrid last summer in signing Radamel Falcao, and also have former Barca defender Eric Abidal and ex-Real Madrid centre-back Ricardo Carvalho among their number.

Financed by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, Monaco are said to want Simeone to replace Claudio Ranieri, having been impressed by the Argentine’s work at Vicente Calderon.

It’s claimed that Simeone could triple his current salary, thanks to the tax status of the principality. He is currently paid in the region of €2m per year, Marca note.

Costa would be a replacement for Falcao, who will be allowed to leave Monaco this year. In turn, Monaco will trigger Costa’s €38m release clause.

Casillas, meanwhile, is wanted on loan for next season, with Monaco willing to pay his full €7m salary.

The Spain captain has lost his place in Madrid’s League XI to Diego Lopez but is the team’s regular Cup and Champions League goalkeeper.

If Casillas doesn’t join Monaco, it’s said the club will move for France international Hugo Lloris, currently of Tottenham Hotspur.
