‘Chelsea’s Costa interest normal’

Diego Simeone has admitted that it is ‘normal’ that Chelsea would be interested in signing Diego Costa.

The Atletico Madrid striker has been in unbelievable form this season, leading the Rojiblancos to top of the table and a Champions League semi-final.

And the Argentine Coach has claimed that rumours that Spain international will join the Premier League outfit are to be expected.

“His future depends on him and what he feels is best for his future," he told AS.

“It's normal that Chelsea are interested in him. They are an economic power, Samuel Eto'o is getting older and Costa can do his work, but right now he's ours.”

Costa was injured in their 2-0 win over Getafe at the weekend, but El Cholo insists that it is nothing serious.

“It's not worrying me. Gabi came and told me that he had a cut. He risked his leg but he's like a bull.

“Costa, with that gesture, exemplified how we want to play every game as though it's our last."

“He has room for improvement. He's rebellious and I like that and he's something different. Hopefully his development won't end. Right now he's among the candidates for the Ballon d'Or.”
