Arrasate rues dropped points

Jagoba Arrasate believes Real Sociedad dropped two points in drawing with 10-man Celta Vigo having twice gone in front.

Sergio Canales put La Real ahead after only eight minutes before a Nolito penalty equalised. Antoine Griezmann restored the advantage before the break but despite Celta having Jon Aurtenetxe sent off shortly after the re-start, Santi Mina was able to level with eight minutes to play.

“After a brilliant start, with a goal and chances to make it 2-0, Celta made us suffer and equalised,” Marca reports Arrasate as saying.

“There was the sending off and going 2-1 in front but we weren’t able to kill the game and they tied the score.

“Unfortunately we’ve dropped two points. We feel very bad because we didn’t get the reward for our work.”

Arrasate added that this isn’t the first time his side have dropped points from a game they should have won comfortably.

“Celta are a team that risks a lot and even having one player fewer they are able to attack,” the Coach continued.

“We had superiority in some very clear moves and could have made it 3-1 to kill the game but we lacked confidence.

“History repeats itself. The team played very good football at times but it’s clearly not enough.

“We’ve had chances to kill the game but we haven’t done and we haven’t got enough points. The result means little.”
