Dani Carvajal believes Real Madrid’s defeat against Borussia Dortmund will stand Los Blancos in good stead for the rest of the season.
Madrid were beaten 2-0 on the night but won 3-2 on aggregate to progress to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Carvajal is reported by Marca as saying after the game that Madrid will benefit from having been given a torrid time by Jurgen Klopp’s side.
“We have suffered a lot and we knew it was a difficult game,” Carvajal said.
“Their two goals came from our mistakes. Suffering and coming through it is good to learn from.
“We’re in the semi-finals but we’ve suffered.
“[Going through] gives us encouragement. Next is Almeria and then we will prepare for the Cup final.”
