The Portugal international left Monday’s training session early after complaining of knee trouble, and Carlo Ancelotti has opted to leave out the Ballon d’Or winner as a precaution.
Los Blancos go to the Westfalenstadion this evening holding a 3-0 aggregate lead, and instead give a start to Angel Di Maria, who replaces the star forward.
Fabio Coentrao comes in for the injured Marcelo, whilst Iker Casillas plays in his usual European slot.
Asier Illarramendi plays in the midfield alongside Xavi Alonso and Luka Modric, whilst Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale lead the line.
The German outfit meanwhile, welcomed back Robert Lewandowski after he was suspended for the first leg.
Sebastian Kehl however, was out following his booking at Santiago Bernabeu, with Ilkay Gundogan and Sven Bender both injured.
