Ronaldo returns to Madrid squad

Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to the Real Madrid squad for their Champions League quarter-final second leg against Borussia Dortmund.

The Portuguese missed Los Blancos’ weekend win over Real Sociedad but is now part of Carlo Ancelotti’s 20-man squad for their trip to Germany.

The 29-year-old had to be substituted during last week’s first leg between the teams after picking up a knee injury and was subsequently left out of the squad on Saturday as a precautionary measure.

Jose Rodriguez also returns to the Madrid fold as they prepare to defend a three goal first leg lead against Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Real Madrid squad to face Dortmund: Casillas, Diego Lopez, Jesus, Varane, Pepe, Ramos, Coentrao, Carvajal, Nacho, Bale, Di Maria, Xabi Alonso, Casemiro, Modric, Isco, Illarra, Jose Rodriguez, Morata, Benzema, Ronaldo
