Barcelona could make an emergency goalkeeper signing as doubts have arisen over the fitness of Jose Pinto.
Victor Valdes’ season and Barca career ended on Wednesday when he tore his anterior cruciate ligament against Celta Vigo and was ruled out for a minimum of six months.
Jose Pinto came on in Valdes’ place but nearly injured his knee when he collided with the goal post in the second half.
Pinto has also been suffering from back problems and AS reports that La Blaugrana are considering bringing in an experienced goalkeeper for the rest of the season.
A meeting is to be held between President Josep Maria Bartomeu, Vice-president Jordi Mestre, sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta and Coach Tata Martino at which the possibility will be discussed.
As it stands the only back-up to Pinto comes from B team players Oier Olazabal and Jordi Masip
There is also a longer-term doubt around Pinto, as his contract expires this summer and there has been no movement towards a renewal.
