Enrique: Celta had few ways to win

Luis Enrique has revealed he didn’t expect Celta Vigo to take anything from their game at Barcelona on Wednesday.

Barca ran out 3-0 winners but the victory was marred by a serious injury to Victor Valdes, who will miss the World Cup and appears to have played his last game for the club.

Speaking to reporters after the match, Enrique said Barca have to support Valdes and that his side got what they expected from their trip to Camp Nou.

“Barca have to rally around Valdes,” the Celta Coach said.

“They had a good game and they were very relaxed.

“These games are more for enjoyments, because we had few options to win.

“We saw from the start it would be very difficult. But we have shown great strength.”

Enrique also thanked the Barca supporters for the warm welcome he received as an ex-player, having spent eight years with La Blaugrana and coached the B team between 2008 and 2011.
