Victor Valdes was stretchered off in Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Celta Vigo and it has been confirmed that he will miss the rest of the season.
It has been revealed that Valdes has torn his cruciate ligament and will miss the World Cup and has played his last game for the club.
The shot-stopper will now have an operation to repair the damage, before undergoing extensive rehabilitation.
The Spain international had previously announced he was to leave Barca when his contract expired at the end of the season.
Jose Pinto came on for Valdes while Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, the Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper, has been tagged as Valdes’ replacement at Camp Nou.
