Marcelino believes his Villarreal side got what they deserved from their trip to Valencia, conceding Los Che were the better team.
A Javi Fuego brace gave Valencia the victory, with Giovani dos Santos scoring a late consolation.
Speaking at his post-match Press conference, Marcelino admitted the Yellow Submarine were second best.
“We’ve got injuries but they haven’t influenced anything here,” the Coach said.
“It’s no excuse and wasn’t a factor on the game. Valencia have just as many injuries as we do.
“The best team won over the 90 minutes and we have to congratulate them.
“They were more intense and attacked better.
“Their superiority in the first half took the game where they wanted it to go and even though it was more even in the second, we couldn’t create enough. It’s a fair result.”
