Emery: Sevilla have to be patient

Unai Emery has said his Sevilla side have to be patient in trying to overturn Real Betis’ two-goal lead in their Europa League fixture.

Betis won 2-0 in the first leg at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan and while Emery believes Sevilla can turn around the score, he doesn’t want his side to panic.

“We need to win and by more than one goal,” Emery told a pre-match Press conference.

“The situation forces to attack more but not just by running around. The important thing is getting there.

“Both teams know there’s 90 minutes to play and we don’t want to leave ourselves without options.

“We know the game won’t be resolved in 10 minutes. We have to play the whole 90.”

Emery warned that if Sevilla go all-out too soon, they will give Betis the chance to extend their lead.

“We have to score three goals to go through. We want to show character and win but we can’t rush things.

“If we did we would give our opponent good chances. We have to show character, but efficiency within that character.

“Our motivation is the Sevilla shirt. There’s no greater motivation than that.”
