Victor Valdes is making progress in talks with Manchester City over a move to England when his Barcelona contract expires, it has been reported.
Mundo Deportivo cites a report from French newspaper L’Equipe which claims Monaco were hopeful of nabbing the Barca No.1 but are likely to lose out to City.
It is said that Valdes had previously agreed to move to the principality but a clause in the contract he agreed allows him to break it for City.
Valdes would be reunited at City with Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano, former Barca executives, and ex-Barca midfielder Yaya Toure.
City is also home to a quartet of Spain internationals – Javi Garcia, David Silva, Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo.
