Europe the aim for Arrasate

Jagoba Arrasate has revealed his aim for the season is to return Real Sociedad to Europe for next year.

La Real play Valencia on Sunday night and speaking at a pre-match Press conference, Arrastate confirmed the objective was some form of continental competition.

“If it arrives by being sixth, then that’s fine, and if we’re fifth, even better,” Arrasate said.

“But being in the mix for fourth place, that’d be even better.”

Arrasate added that he and his players have discussed where they went wrong against Rayo Vallecano after losing 3-2 at home to the relegation strugglers in their last outing.

“We’ve spoken about all the things we did badly against Rayo so they shouldn’t be repeated against Valencia,” Arrasate confirmed.

“Valencia are coming here in good form and if we let them, they’ll get back in the fight for Europe,” Arrasate said of Los Che, who are currently seven points adrift of La Real.

“Going 10 points ahead of them with 10 games to go will be very important.”
