Levante: €10m for Navas

Levante will not accept any bids for Keylor Navas lower than the €10m release clause in the goalkeeper’s contract.

AS reports that Levante have attempted to extend Navas’ contract, which ends in 2015, but the Costa Rica international has so far resisted over the minimum release fee clause.

Levante want to hold the clause at €10m and Navas wants to see it reduced to facilitate a move elsewhere.

But as it stands the Levante President, Quico Catalan, has insisted any club that wants to sign Navas will pay the full amount.

“We have the best goalkeeper in the League. Anyone who wants him will have to pay and if not, we’ll continue to have the best next year,” Catalan said.

AS notes that statistically Navas is the best goalkeeper currently in La Liga, while Catalan added that Levante are under no financial pressure to cash in on the 27-year-old. Navas is also in the process of acquiring a Spanish passport.
