Khedira ‘won’t rush’ return

Sami Khedira has admitted that he doesn’t want to rush back from injury, despite the World Cup looming.

The midfielder underwent surgery in November after suffering a torn cruciate ligament in Germany’s friendly with Italy.

The Real Madrid was expected to be out for the rest of the campaign, but Carlo Ancelotti confirmed over the weekend that he could be back training within three weeks.

Khedira though, has claimed that he wants to make sure he’s 100 per cent before coming back.

“I tend not to look too far ahead or think about the future,” he told the German Football Federation’s official website.

“My daily routine consists of an intensive workout – that’s all that concerns me right now – not speculating when I might return.”
