Jagoba Arrasate has insisted that Real Sociedad’s attempt to qualify for next year’s Champions League isn’t over with defeat to Sevilla.
Kevin Gameiro’s goal condemned La Real to a 1-0 reverse and leaves Arrasate’s team seven points behind Athletic Bilbao in fourth.
While Arrasate conceded the loss was a setback, he insisted to reporters that there was enough time to make up the gap before the end of the season.
“[Our Champions League push] doesn’t stop and the next 12 games are the most important.
“The approach was the same [as last week’s win over Barcelona] but the game went differently.
“Before Sevilla’s goal we had a clear chance but chances in the game were isolated. A draw wouldn’t have been unfair.
“Sevilla gave us less room to counter, perhaps because they know of the danger of La Real.”
