Espanyol happy with Getafe point

Espanyol assistant coach Alfredo Tena has said the point at Getafe is one welcomed by Los Blanquiblaus.

The game at Alfonso Perez finished goalless and Tena, filling in for the suspended Javier Aguirre, told reporters that the draw didn’t come easy.

“It wasn’t a great game but it was competitive,” Tena said.

“Getafe were very physical and we wanted to keep the ball on the ground but it was very difficult.

“Drawing here is a very good result for us. It took a lot of effort to take this point.”

Tena added that as far as he was concerned, Espanyol were not safe from relegation just yet.

“Our safety still isn’t secured,” Tena insisted.

“We’re not here to brag about our position. We are happy with this point.”
