Alcaraz wary of Athletic power

Granada Coach Lucas Alcaraz has pinpointed Athletic Bilbao’s physicality and set-pieces as the main danger to his side.

Athletic host Granada at San Mames on Friday and Alcaraz told his pre-match Press conference that he is not fretting about the amount of injuries in his side, with Piti the latest to be ruled out.

“We’ll be competitive despite going into the game with a lot of casualties,” Alcaraz said.

“Ideally we’d have everyone available for every game but every in the squad understands their role.

“I don’t like to talk about casualties because we’ve won and lost without someone.

“The players missing are important but so are the ones we have available. We’ve won without Piti too.”

Alcaraz continued by touching on Athletic’s qualities but arguing that Granada have plenty of their own.

“They’re a big side and powerful at dead balls,” Alcaraz said.

“We respect Athletic but we have our own assets and we want to translate them onto the field.

“There have been games that have gone against us when we have made a good enough case to get more points.”
