Unai Emery believes Sevilla’s performance warranted a win over Maribor in the Europa League but will settle for the 2-2 draw.
Goals from Kevin Gameiro and Federico Fazio were welcomed by Emery, who told reporters after the match that the two away goals stand Sevilla in good stead for the return leg.
“We weren’t so good in the first half but we went out to attack more in the second and we did that,” the Coach said.
“We had clear chances from Gameiro at the start to [Vicente] Iborra at the end.
“I think we did enough to win the game but the return leg is at home and that’s where we’re strongest.
“We had enough chances to win and I’m not happy we’ve conceded two goals.
“On balance the tie is in our favour but we must show more in attack and defence.”
