Seedorf expecting hostile Calderon

Milan Coach Clarence Seedorf believes the Atletico Madrid fans will give him a hot reception in the return leg of the Champions League.

Atletico claimed a 1-0 win at San Siro on Wednesday night thanks to a Diego Costa goal and Milan will have to win in Spain to stand any chance of going through.

Seedorf – a former Real Madrid player – told Sky Sport Italia that he will be on familiar ground for the game on March 11.

“The Calderon is a fiery atmosphere, but that stadium knows me too. I had some good times there!” he said.

“We’ve shown we have the utmost respect for Atletico, doubling up on the marking and remaining aggressive throughout.”

Seedorf added that he was content with Milan’s performance and feels the Rossoneri were hard done by.

“I think everyone saw what the lads did on the field. I am proud of what they did,” the Dutchman revealed.

“In the last 20 minutes we lost our intensity and Atletico started to get closer, even without creating that many chances.

“We were a little unlucky with the goal, but I saw some very good responses in the first half.”
