Marcelino refused to comment on the smoke canister that temporarily suspended Villarreal’s match with Celta Vigo on Saturday.
The Yellow Submarine went down 2-0 to the Celestes yesterday, but the main talking point of the game was the 20 minute stoppage that happened in the first half when a canister of smoke forced the players off of the pitch.
“I do not understand why anyone would do this,” he told a Press conference. “That’s all I want to say on the matter.
“The game is much more important than a madman who has tried to draw attention to himself.
“This was one of our most complete games of the season. We completely dominated and the players have to be congratulated for their efforts.
“We made a mistake for the first goal, and if that hadn’t have happened, maybe things would be different.”
