‘Anything possible in the Cup’

Real Sociedad Coach Jagoba Arrasate is not giving up on a place in the Copa del Rey final despite trailing Barcelona from the first leg.

The second leg takes place on Wednesday night and Barca go to Anoeta with a 2-0 advantage, but Arrasate told his pre-match Press conference that his players are angry and believe they can overturn the score.

“They are angry and excited,” Arrasate said.

“There’s a lot of anger inside the dressing room and if that rage is well directed I’m sure we can use it to our advantage. Anything is possible in the Cup.”

Arrasate added that he hopes the officials have a better game than they did in the first leg when a number of controversial decisions went against his side.

“I always say decisions go with you and against you, so we know what can happen.

“We’ll see if tomorrow all the things that are out of our control fall on our side and not Barcelona’s.”

Far from being awed by the challenge of playing the League leaders with a two-goal deficit, Arrasate believes La Real have the quality to threaten the Catalans’ supremacy.

“We also have good players and it will make for a great match,” Arrasate said.

“We need to score twice and that’s why we have to attack from the start, but we must also avoid conceding, so you have to find a balance.

“When we have to defend we need to do it well and be aggressive.

“I think and I dream about the final. I am aware it is very complicated but there are possibilities. The first thing is to believe.”
