Calderon wants more from Betis

Gabriel Calderon is not satisfied with the 2-0 win over Espanyol and has called on his Real Betis players to do even better.

A Ruben Castro double gave the League’s bottom side three points and Calderon was pleased with the performance but is eager his players don’t rest on their laurels.

“We knew there was no choice but to win today and they did, so it was a triumph for the players,” Calderon told reporters.

“We’ve been looking for balance after conceding so many goals in our last games.

“Today we had organization and balance like never before.

“And Ruben is more committed than ever.

“But we still have room for improvement.”

Calderon added that if Betis are to survive this season, they can only do so with the support of the fans.

“I believe in salvation by public,” Calderon said.

“We have to take three points more often and we have to believe in miracles.”
