PSG ready to bid for Messi?

Reports in the French Press this morning claim that Paris Saint-Germain will start negotiations with Barcelona for Lionel Messi.

L’Equipe write today that the Ligue 1 champions want the Blaugrana sensation for next season, and will attempt to sit down with the Camp Nou outfit to try and agree a deal for the Argentina international.

PSG are seen as one of only a few teams who could afford to buy Messi, who is currently in talks with the Catalan club over a contract extension.

That doesn’t seem to have put off Laurent Blanc’s men however, who are willing to break the world record to try and prize the goalscorer to the French capital.

Leo’s father Jorge has claimed though, that his son is happy at Barcelona.

“At the moment there is nothing,” he is quoted as saying by the sports daily. “Leo is a Barcelona player and has a multiyear contract.

“It’s nice to know that PSG think about him, but the only reality is his contract with Barcelona.

“Only God know however, what will happen tomorrow. In football, you never know.”
