Javier Aguirre has defended the style of football he employs at Espanyol, insisting that results are most important.
Speaking at a Press conference to preview the game between Valencia and Aguirre’s Espanyol, the Mexican said he values qualities other than style.
“I was brought here to keep the team up,” Aguirre said.
“I’ve been trying to do that with the players we have.
“For me, to play well isn’t to play pretty, because they are two different things.
“I want to make the players better and find the best way of achieving our objectives.
“We’ve been playing well, rising to the occasion, and we have the fewest injuries of all the teams in the League.
“So we will be at the highest level against Valencia.”
