‘Levante can beat Barca’

Levante goalkeeper Keylor Navas has insisted his side are not just making up the numbers against Barcelona on Sunday.

The Valencia side were beaten 7-0 at Camp Nou earlier in the season but Navas told Levante’s official website that they have learnt the lessons of the first game between the teams.

“Now we’re having a good time and we want to show people how confident we are,” Navas said.

“All matches start equal and we have to have a winning mentality.

“We still need points to make sure we stay up.

“We are playing a great team but we are going to defend our colours to the death.”

Despite Navas’ confidence he admitted he was fully aware of the task facing Los Granotes.

“It’s not every day you play against the best players in the world.

“These games are always enjoyable. You have to be confident and do all the things you need to in order to have a good game.

“We have to try and enjoy it.

“You have to be focused throughout the match, react to situations as they develop and avoid the danger.”

Navas went on to say Barca deserve to be the League leaders on the basis of their performances since the season got underway.

“They’re the leaders. They demonstrated in the first round of games why they’re in first place.

“They’re a great team.

“Each player has many qualities and as a whole they are very good and hard to stop playing.

“But we have our own qualities too.

“We want to win. We are very clear about that.”
