Xavi: A very special game

Xavi Hernandez has expressed his happiness at making a landmark 700th appearance for Barcelona.

The 33-year-old replaced Cesc Fabregas in the second-half of Barca’s Copa del Rey win over Getafe and told TV3 after the match that he is content with his current situation.

“It's a very special game.

“I still feel important, I'm happy and enjoying another year. I can't ask for more.

Barca ran out 6-0 winners on aggregate after a 2-0 victory on the night, and Xavi was impressed with the performance.

“The team's good, everyone played well and we're not dropping our level based on who we're playing.

“We’re enjoying it, which is what counts.”

Lionel Messi scored four goals in the two games against the Madrid side and Xavi does not expect any lingering problems following the forward’s injury lay-off.

“Messi was doing very well in Argentina, he is very happy.

“He's coming back to how good he was.”

The game was marred a little by the injury to Neymar, who suffered a sprained ankle in the first-half and is expected to miss three weeks.

“It seems like it's not serious but we will have to wait for the tests,” Xavi said of the Brazilian’s injury.
