The agent of Cristiano Ronaldo has said the forward will stay at Real Madrid until he is 40.
Ronaldo, 28, recently signed a new long-term contract at the Santiago Bernabeu and his representative, Jorge Mendes, expects the Portuguese to stay at Madrid for more than another decade.
“He’ll be there until 40,” Mendes told Spanish television, despite Ronaldo having admitted this week that over the summer he considered a return to Manchester United.
“I know Cristiano and it was a great joy for him to win the Ballon d’Or. It’s something he’ll never forget.
“There are many injustices around Cristiano.
“He is a fantastic human being and a great professional. It’s very difficult to be Cristiano.”
Ronaldo’s former Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand revealed he had pushed for Ronaldo to return to Old Trafford, but Mendes suggested Ronaldo would instead retire as a Madrid player.
