Diego Simeone could give Jose Sosa his Atletico Madrid debut against Valencia in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday.
Sosa moved to the club on loan from Metalist at the start of the winter transfer window but has yet to feature for the title chasers.
He was part of the squad against Malaga but was not brought on in the 1-0 victory at La Rosaleda.
But having had more time training with his new teammates, Marca reports that Sosa could be in the starting XI for the second-leg of the fixture with Los Che.
Sosa was seen on the right of midfield in Atletico’s training sessions, leading to speculation he could replace Koke.
The chances of Sosa starting were given credence by Simeone, who praised his compatriot’s speedy adaption to life in La Liga but insisted he had made no decision on the team.
“Sosa’s better. He’s growing and getting to know the group,” the Coach said at his pre-match Press conference.
“He has quality that can come in handy. He may be an option [against Valencia] but I haven’t decided yet.”
