The injury that forced Andres Iniesta off against Atletico Madrid has been confirmed as nothing more serious than bruising.
The midfielder was withdrawn at half-time as a precaution after suffering a blow to the knee, AS reports.
Iniesta suffered bruising to the left calf and mindful of the high-tempo approach employed by Atletico, Tata Martino chose to remove Iniesta to avoid further damage.
It was a challenge from Gabi that is thought to have injured Iniesta but the damage is not expected to prevent the Barca man from taking part in upcoming fixtures, providing there are no complications.
Martino was able to bring on Lionel Messi in place of Iniesta for the Argentine’s first League appearance since November.
The game nevertheless finished goalless to keep the sides level on points at the top of the League.
