Betis eye Fulham striker

Real Betis are contemplating a loan move for Fulham striker Bryan Ruiz in the transfer January window.

The Andalusians are hoping to tempt Atletico Madrid’s Leo Baptistao or Dorlan Pabon of Valencia to the Benito Villamarin on a similar arrangement, but in case of failure have identified Ruiz as an alternative, according to Diario de Sevilla.

Costa Rica international Ruiz, 28, has been with the London outfit for over two years following his signing from FC Twente, but has played just 12 Premier League games this season and scored one goal.

As a result, he is seeking a way out of Craven Cottage to gain more playing time in order to boost his chances of a good World Cup with his country in Brazil this summer.

Marca reports that Betis boss Juan Carlos Garrido has even personally called the player to try and convince him, although a major stumbling block could be that Fulham are asking around €1m for the loan deal.

Los Beticos are also understood to be interested in bringing Real Zaragoza forward Victor Perez in on loan, with Braian Rodriguez moving in the opposite direction.
