Sevilla rescind Maduro contract

Hedwidges Maduro has had his contract rescinded by Sevilla, freeing the Netherlands international to join Greek side PAOK.

Maduro had been contracted to Los Rojiblancos until 2015, but the midfielder has been allowed to leave this month to sign for the Thessaloniki outfit.

The 28-year-old underwent a thorough medical in Greece last week after he was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect last season. He was given the all-clear to resume playing after being fitted with an EKG monitor by a Texas clinic.

Maduro went on to play 26 times for Sevilla last season but had made only one appearance this term, in the Europa League, being left out of the registered La Liga squad by Coach Unai Emery.
