Juan Antonio Pizzi praised his Valencia side after they beat Levante 2-0 on Saturday evening.
The Coach won his debut game in charge of Los Che thanks to goals from Sofiane Feghouli and Pablo Piatti.
And the Argentine tactician conceded that he was delighted with his team’s intensity in beating their city rivals.
“I am so pleased with several individuals,” he told a Press conference. “But the whole collective did well. They were at the level I had hoped for.
“I think we were, especially in the second half, dominant. We had control of the first half as well, but it’s the result that makes me happy.
“It was a deserved win.
“It gives me peace of mind to think that our first goal has been achieved. From here we have to fix the little things and try to improve all-round.
“The most important thing from today is that we showed we can play at a high level. We displayed a real intensity.”
