Pizzi leaves Valencia

Valencia have announced they have dispensed with the services of their Coach, Juan Antonio Pizzi.

The Argentina-born tactician only arrived at the Mestalla in December last year, leading Los Che to an eighth place La Liga finish as well as the Europa League semi-finals.

However, Singaporean businessman Peter Lim’s summer takeover of the club placed the 46-year-old’s future in doubt and it has now been confirmed he is leaving.

“Before the development of the process of the sale of Valencia CF, for reasons unrelated to the management of the club, the Valencia CF Board of Directors assessed all the possibilities at this crucial moment,” reads a statement on Valencia’s official website.

“In order to provide future stability in the sporting project, it was decided to dispense with the services of Juan Antonio Pizzi as Coach.

“Valancia CF wishes the best of luck to Pizzi and his technical staff, who carried out their roles with complete professionalism.”
