Valencia to delay Pabon decision

Valencia are believed unlikely to make Dorlan Pabon available for transfer until the end of the January window.

The Colombian has struggled to make an impact so far this season since completing a €7.5m summer move from Monterrey.

Amid speculation over where Los Che will focus efforts in the transfer window themselves, with Peter Lim’s prospective takeover attempt to be determined by January 15, Pabon’s future is seen as unclear.

Whilst the player is described as keen to seek assurances on playing time before determining his future, it is widely believed that his former club Real Betis have begun circling, have already made initial contact with the 25-year-old and have even apparently tabled an initial offer of €750,000.

However, Estadio Deportivo understand that Juan Antonio Pizzi has yet to meet with the player to discuss his first-team plans and that the new Coach has requested that Valencia negotiate no possible departures from the club until at least reinforcements arrive.

It is therefore believed that any possible exit for Pabon will not come until closer to the final week of this month’s transfer window.
