Ronaldo dreams of Champions final

Cristiano Ronaldo has reflected that winning the Champions League Final in Portugal this season would be ‘the icing on the cake’.

Real Madrid are once more targeting La Decima this season, with the competition’s final being held at Benfica’s home stadium in May.

For Los Blancos’ leading Portuguese star, to lift the famous trophy in his home nation would be something special.

“Winning the Champions League at the Estadio de la Luz would be the icing on the cake,” considered Ronaldo in an interview with Record released today.

In the interview, the 28-year-old was asked of his relationship with previous Portuguese Coaches Jose Mourinho and Carlos Queiroz in particular.

“I have no problems with any Coach and I would work with any of them again because they were all important at various stages of my career.

“What do I say about Carlos Queiroz? He was one of the most important in the evolution of my career.

“Indeed, I want to take this opportunity to wish him every success with the [Iran] national team at the World Cup in Brazil.”

Ronaldo developed as a youth at Sporting CP and was asked of the possibility of one day returning there as a player.

“I am just missing on my resume a League title with Sporting. I do not know if that will happen, because nobody knows what the future will hold, but it would make me proud.”
