Dortmund target Diego Costa

With Robert Lewandowski expected to make official his summer move to Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund have Diego Costa in mind as replacement.

Speculation is that Lewandowski will this week announce formally that he has reached agreement with Dortmund’s Bundesliga title rivals to join them on a Bosman move at the end of his contract this June.

On from previous speculation linking Die Borussen with Diego Costa, Sport Bild indicate once more this week that the club will respond to losing their Polish striker with a summer bid for Atletico Madrid’s leading forward.

The publication allege that the player is already considering a switch out to Germany and has spoken to former Dortmund men Dede and Marcio Amoroso on the matter, whilst Dortmund reportedly see the player’s recent contract renewal to June 2018 as ‘affordable’ to break at the buyout clause of €24m.

Meanwhile, reports in France suggest that Monaco, who last summer picked up Radamel Falcao from Los Colchoneros, are also interested in a move for Diego Costa.
