Gustavo happy for Barca link

Luiz Gustavo has admitted to his pleasure in seeing his name linked to Barcelona, as he explains that there is a buyout clause in his contract.

The Brazilian international has once more been paired with a possible move out to the Catalans in a future transfer window, with Barca said to value his versatility between left-back and centre-back.

“It is always good when you name is mentioned in relation to Barcelona,” Gustavo has responded to Globoesporte this week.

“This is the third time that there has been talk of interest. But, my contract includes a buyout clause to be paid for whoever wants to sign me.”

Gustavo is believed to have a €25m buyout clause with current club Wolfsburg, who he only joined in the summer from Bayern Munich, after indications from arriving Coach Pep Guardiola that he was not in his first-team plans.

“I would not leave Germany [last summer] because it is a country in which I have adapted very well. Wolfsburg’s ambition is what I was looking for in my career.

“The things I wanted to experience were no longer at Bayern.”
