Messi rejects foreign advances

Reports in the Spanish Press this afternoon have claimed that ‘several’ clubs have sounded out Lionel Messi about a possible move.

Mundo Deportivo have insisted that the a number of top unnamed European clubs have contacted the Argentine forward about a possible move.

However, the paper reports that the Bluagrana record-breaker has turned down all advances from those clubs.

Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco are two teams rumoured to be interested in Messi, and would be willing to pay his €250m release clause.

The forward’s future had been thrown into doubt recently when Vice-President Javier Faus commented that there was ‘no need’ to renew his deal.

That seems to be unfounded though, with Mundo Deportivo believing that Messi has rejected all offers from abroad.
