Official: Pizzi is new Valencia Coach

Valencia have confirmed that Juan Antonio Pizzi has replaced Miroslav Djukic as the club’s new Coach.

Los Che released the Serbian tactician earlier this month after an indifferent start to the campaign.

But the Mestalla outfit have revealed that they have opted for the ex-San Lorenzo man, who has recently won the Torneo Clausura in Argentina.

“Valencia CF have closed a deal with Juan Antonio Pizzi to make the Argentine the new manager of the club,” a statement on their official website read.

“Pizzi comes to Mestalla fresh from winning the Torneo Clausura in his homeland with San Lorenzo de Almagro [he has also won a league title in Chile with Universidad Católica in 2010]. He will be joined at Valencia CF by fitness coach Alejandro Richino and assistant Manuel Suárez.

“Details of his arrival and presentation as new Valencia CF manager will be announced shortly.”

Reports suggest that Pizzi has signed a two-and-a-half year deal and is expected to arrive in Spain later today.
