Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that he ‘didn’t like’ Real Madrid’s second half as they beat Olimpic Xativa 2-0.
Goals from Asier Illarramendi and Angel Di Maria gave Los Blancos the win in the Copa del Rey. But the Coach has conceded that his men could have done better.
“I think we started the game well but we slowed down when we were 2-0 up. I didn't like the second half,” he told a Press conference.
“It wasn't easy to prepare for this game because we had to make many changes.
“I think Di María played well and was important for the team. He helped with the first goal and scored the second one."
“It's not easy for young players to play for Real Madrid. They need more work."
“This competition is not just for young players. We will always play with the strongest team we have."
“Xàtiva were well-organised and compact.”
