Arrasate doesn’t want speculative Real

Jagoba Arrasate has mused that he does not want to see Real Sociedad speculating against Algeciras on Wednesday evening.

La Real are home to their Segunda B opponents in the second leg of this Copa del Rey Round of 32 clash with a slight advantage of an away goal from the first leg’s 1-1 draw.

For the San Sebastian outfit’s Coach, though, sitting back on that is not in the plan.

“If we think about playing for the result, then we are taking a step towards a poor result,” Arrasate stated to reporters today.

“We cannot speculate, we need to give much more than them. Let’s try thinking only about progressing in the Cup. We have enough points to look at in the Cup to be able to focus on other things.

“The match will depend much on what we do as to what we give our opponent, because even though they are in the Segunda B, they are a good team.

“It is normal that for them the motivation is high, for them it is a party, and if the minutes pass by and they still have a chance, they are going to push forward.

“Is our motivation any lower? To find that motivation when you play every three days is not easy. And you get to each game with respective complications.

“The manner tomorrow is a must, the players are responsible and I have relied on their expertise and they know that we are playing for a lot.

“I am sure we will find the motivation to get through the round.

“Will the 5-1 win over Betis give us confidence? Not for winning that game will we start winning tomorrow, but if it gives us moral and confidence then it is because it tells us that we are doing things right, that we have more of a chance of winning.”
